Vice President, Strategic Partnerships

Job Description

The Partnerships function at Emburse leverages industry knowledge, payments expertise and general acumen to craft thoughtful partnership and product strategies with a variety of organizations that enable Emburse products. This person will execute quarterly goals and have a clear annual plan that aligns with Emburse’s overall strategy across the company, by segment, and/or by product. As part of these efforts, this person will gather feedback and work closely with multiple internal cross functional stakeholders on the creation and execution of partnerships.      

What you'll do:

  • Develop the partnership strategy for one or more of Emburse’s existing or upcoming emerging OEM solutions, to align with product and business goals
  • Identify and effectively analyze new opportunities for Emburse, ultimately making recommendations to relevant decision makers and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Drive the strategy and lead negotiations across a product area with at scale impact to Emburse and create new commercial models to enable new product launches or support new business strategies

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 10 years of total work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of partnerships experience working at or with financial institution, global card networks, banking partners, travel partners or large technology partners
  • Experience developing partnership strategy and identifying, sourcing, and analyzing new partnership opportunities
  • Track record of success working effectively and independently across functions to deliver against deadlines
  • Broad and deep experience executing industry-wide partnership strategies to build innovative product experiences and go to market models with financial and strategic partners is preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience independently leading negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to make decisions and influence stakeholders
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills that result in practical and effective solutions, scale mindset (setting short to medium-term direction) and focus on impact
  • Ability to prioritize and set goals for self and others, and helps others by providing feedback
  • Experience initiating collaboration amongst individuals or groups to increase impact and productivity and enhancing flow of information within and between teams
  • A mindset of contributing to the success of the team and overall company, outside of individual goals and objectives
  • Experience developing partnership strategy and identifying, sourcing, and analyzing new partnership opportunities
  • Track record of success working effectively and independently across functions to deliver against deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - including the ability to speak to different constituencies such as business development, policy, product, engineering, and sales internally and externally
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Ability to effectively represent Emburse externally at the executive level with financial partners (including banks, local and global networks), internet companies and a wide range of external partners and industry forums
  • An interest and intellectual curiosity regarding global business payments, financial technology and new business models
